WHAT: 50th Anniversary Lunch 

BRIEF:  To mark the Chairman’s 50th year in the oil industry, our client requested a celebratory lunch for approximately 160 guests in the prestigious, English Heritage listed ballroom at Claridge’s. We were required to provide bespoke staging, signage, backdrops, lighting and sound, as well as full technical support and on the day management. 

RESULT:  Rontec is a name synonymous with excellence down to the smallest detail, and we were required to deliver nothing short of perfection for this event. Liaising closely with Rontec’s marketing department, we designed a set which incorporated their branding and brought a corporate element to the otherwise elegant ballroom. The stage was fitted with a lectern and autocue facilities, to enable the smooth delivery of speeches. Embedded in the backdrop were two large plasma screens, each one playing a presentation which ran throughout the course of the event, showing images of petrol station forecourts from 1966 to the present day. Through the same screens, we later played a surprise tribute film, in honour of Rontec’s long-serving Chairman. 

Around the room, cool white up-lighting was balanced by the warmth of the chandeliers, and each table was decorated with simple yet impressive arrangements of blue hydrangeas, complementing the vibrant colour of the backdrop. Out in the adjoining reception area, two giant graphics boards showed “then and now” images of Rontec forecourts, whilst green and white hydrangeas sat atop plinths filled with confectionary – a nod to the wide variety of goods sold by Rontec Roadside Retail around the country.
