WHAT: Gala Fundraising Dinner

BRIEF: The Gala Dinner is CST’s largest fundraising event during the year so getting it right is imperative. We were commissioned to devise a concept for the set design that was innovative, impactful and visually engaging. The look of the set and screen was to remain in line with the serious nature of the trust’s message to their guests, and the event required full technical production.

With up to 1,200 guests in attendance – including prominent figures from politics, the media, the police and the business sector – confidentiality and security remained of vital importance leading up to and during the event. High security shut-down procedures and venue constraints regarding load-in times were key considerations.  

RESULT: As the event coincided with a branding update, we took the approach that it was the right time to introduce a 23 metre widescreen set, to more powerfully convey the serious nature of the event. We worked closely with the client to design impressive and relevant graphics and animation scenes, which would visually deliver CST’s message to their supporters. 

We coordinated all installation, design and operation of the set, staging, lighting, sound and rigging, as well as live camera relay and recording equipment, ensuring that all elements of the technical production ran smoothly throughout the evening.
