Jane & Mike
BRIEF : Jane and Mike originally planned a small ceremony and barbecue, but as numbers rose our help was enlisted to ensure that the growing guest list didn’t compromise the low-key party they had hoped for. They didn’t want a traditional wedding, so we designed the celebrations to span two days, with nuptials on the Friday followed by a marquee party the next day.
The couple wanted to show off their beautiful garden to their family and friends. The conservatory in particular, which housed a magnificent display of plants, was to be a key feature. In an especially wet month, an important consideration was the saturated ground, which needed covering with full-support, even flooring to guarantee the marquee remained stable.
RESULT : For day one of the celebrations we decorated the elegant conservatory, and after the exchange of vows guests were welcomed into its beautiful light space for an informal Champagne-fuelled barbecue. For day two we brought in a clear-span marquee with luxury toilets to house the official party, which included speeches and a spectacular tower of cheeses as the wedding cake. As serious foodies, Jane and Mike’s wedding breakfast needed be first class so we liaised with caterers to create a bespoke menu, each course designed around the couple’s favourite flavours. Using flowers which complemented their own garden, soft lighting and minimal, pretty decorations we created an intimate, romantic atmosphere in which the bride and groom felt very special.
