Sarah & Jamie
BRIEF : Sarah and Jamie came to us with a completely blank canvas; they only knew the rough location in which they wanted to marry. Everything else was undecided, and they sought our creative input on everything from transport, entertainment, photography and catering to flowers, lighting, stationery design and general styling. Our venue suggestion - The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor - combined history with an attractive country location, and whilst not as formal as the manor house itself, The Dairy is every bit as special, featuring a charming terrace overlooking a lake of swans and weeping willows.
RESULT : As a surprise for Sarah and Jamie after their church service, we arranged for them to be driven through the grounds of Waddesdon Manor in a vintage car, providing unmissable photo opportunities. A selection of bespoke cocktails and canapés followed on the terrace overlooking the lake, with pretty fuschia roses tucked into the shrubbery. Bagpipes called the guests into the breakfast room and signalled the entrance of the bride and groom. Already stunning in natural daylight, we kept the space simple and elegant during the formal breakfast, styling it only with classic white roses and flashes of fuschia. Natural petal confetti was scattered on white table cloths and a striking, unusual cake of handmade chocolate boxes topped with colourful fruits and flowers provided a stylish focal point.
Once the light faded, we transformed the pale room using vibrant pink colour-wash lighting and hundreds of candles, signalling the end of the formalities and the beginning of the party. A buffet of sizzling fajitas was served later in the evening whilst soft romantic lighting, heated lamps and burning torches were dotted around the lake, to enhance the already beautiful setting.
